As a Data Scientist in Fraud Management, you are responsible for the further development and operation of data-driven fraud prevention solutions within the TWINT ecosystem. You create and combine machine learning models, rule-based detection mechanisms, and in-depth analyses to identify new fraud patterns early, minimize risks, and sustainably strengthen the security of our customers and partner banks.

Your impact on TWINT

  • Development, optimization and governance of machine learning models for real-time fraud detection, including retraining, performance monitoring, documentation and reporting.
  • Development and updating of custom rules, rule sets, lists and metrics to specifically supplement and improve the fraud detection models used.
  • Continuous analysis of transactions, fraud cases and fraud trends at the scheme, issuer and acquirer level for the early identification of new threats and the derivation and implementation of effective mitigation measures.
  • Monitoring and optimization of thresholds and detection parameters in coordination with stakeholders to ensure an optimal balance between fraud detection rate and false positive rate.
  • Creation of KPI reports, statistics, management reports and ad-hoc analyses as a basis for decision-making for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with Fraud Management, Risk, Security, Compliance, Operations, partner banks and service providers for the continuous development of fraud prevention, prevention guidelines, control mechanisms and processes.

Your profile

  • University degree (FH, Uni or ETH) in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a comparable field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the field of Data Science or Risk Analytics, preferably in the Payment, FinTech or Banking sector.
  • Proven experience in the independent development, monitoring, retraining and further development of productive machine learning models using Python.
  • Experience in defining and evaluating thresholds, KPIs and performance indicators for (fraud detection) scoring systems.
  • Ability to present complex issues in a way that is appropriate for the target audience and to derive data-based recommendations for action.
  • Independent, structured and solution-oriented work style with a high degree of personal responsibility.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills; German is a big plus.
