As a Data Governance Specialist (Lead Data Steward), you will be responsible for data management and data governance at Stadtwerk Winterthur. You will ensure that data, as a strategic resource, is managed in a high-quality, consistent, and legally compliant manner. In this role, you will coordinate collaboration between departments, IT, and other stakeholders, making a significant contribution to digital transformation.

Your tasks

  • Development and further development of the data governance strategy as well as definition and implementation of guidelines, standards and business rules.
  • Ensuring data quality and managing the entire data lifecycle while adhering to legal and internal requirements.
  • Definition of data access and role models as well as coordination of collaboration between departments, IT data protection and IT security
  • Planning and execution of data audits as well as monitoring compliance with data governance, compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g. ElCom and measurement data)
  • Management of the Technical Information Owners (TIE) committee, prioritization of data initiatives, and participation in cross-functional projects.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, or a comparable field. Further training in Data Governance, Information Management, or Data Management is advantageous.
  • Several years of professional experience in data management or data governance, as well as sound knowledge in the areas of data quality, data modeling, master data and metadata management.
  • Good knowledge of relevant data protection and compliance requirements, as well as a good understanding of databases.
  • Structured and analytical working methods, networked thinking, and the ability to establish standards and processes sustainably.
  • Excellent communication and moderation skills, as well as strong assertiveness when dealing with different stakeholder groups.
