Your role with us

As a Machine Learning Engineer , you develop and are responsible for key AI components. Together with backend engineers, product owners, and platform specialists, you reliably bring modern machine learning solutions into production.

• Machine Learning: Development, fine-tuning and operation of modern vision language models as well as further development of our embedding and computer vision pipelines.

• AI Platform & MLOps: Building and operating scalable ML infrastructures, inference services and MLOps processes for productive AI applications.

• Make-or-buy decisions: Contributing to informed decisions about when developing your own model is worthwhile and when an API-based LLM service is sufficient – ​​with a view to costs, quality and time-to-market.

• Architecture & Innovation: Contributing to the design of AI architecture, evaluating new technologies, and developing high-performance and future-proof solutions.

• Engineering Excellence: Ensuring high model quality through benchmarks, automated tests, monitoring and continuous optimization.

• Collaboration & Ownership: Close collaboration with product and engineering teams, as well as active participation in technical decisions and knowledge transfer.

What you bring

You have solid experience in machine learning engineering and are comfortable working in productive AI environments. You develop high-performance models, think pragmatically, and reliably deploy solutions into production.

• Education: University, University of Applied Sciences or ETH degree, or equivalent qualification with relevant professional experience.

• Languages: Fluent English skills; German skills are an advantage or the willingness to learn German.

• Experience: Several years of practical experience in machine learning engineering with a focus on computer vision, deep learning and productive AI systems.

• Technologies: Very good knowledge of Python and PyTorch, as well as experience with Vision Language models, Transformer architectures, and fine-tuning of Foundation models.

• AI platform & MLOps: Experience in building and operating scalable ML systems as well as with MLOps, GPU cloud infrastructures and modern inference frameworks.

• LLMs & Data: Experience with embedding models, API-based LLMs and the creation of training datasets as well as evaluation benchmarks.

• Quality & Software Engineering: Confident in handling testing, CI/CD, code reviews and best practices for maintainable, productive software.

• Personality & working style: Open, enthusiastic personality with self-motivation; independent, structured, reliable, solution-oriented and a team player.
