We are building up the AI ​​division at Emil Frey

Join us in building the AI ​​division within the Emil Frey Group. As a newly formed team, we will shape the AI ​​strategy and operating model, develop governance standards in collaboration with Security, Legal, IT, and Data, and support business units in ensuring that AI delivers measurable business impact. This includes everything from business case analysis and risk assessment to the evaluation of partners and technical solutions. We manage the AI ​​portfolio in Switzerland, lead projects, and develop AI agents and automated workflows. Internationally, we ensure transparency regarding the initiatives of national subsidiaries, enabling synergies to be leveraged across the entire group.

As part of the AI ​​team, you will help build the new area, participate in decision-making, take responsibility for your own projects, and shape how AI works at Emil Frey. Product Manager AI Portfolio & Delivery

Your tasks

  • Responsibility for the AI ​​portfolio and the CH AI backlog, including prioritization logic.
  • Sets frameworks and standards for the intake gate of incoming AI initiatives from the business units.
  • Responsibility for the strategic evaluation of incoming initiatives (business case, strategic fit, feasibility, risk assessment) and the prioritization recommendation.
  • Responsible for the initial technical assessment (Build/Buy/Partner, S/M/L complexity, dependencies, risks) as the basis for prioritization
  • Co-responsibility for the AI ​​governance framework together with CISO, Legal, IT and Enterprise Architect; responsible for the standards and collaboration with these functions.
  • Responsibility for the evaluation and selection of external AI solutions and partners, including contract and budget frameworks.
  • Stakeholder management at all levels (business units, management, specialist functions, international counterparts)
  • Monitoring of portfolio, budget, costs and resources of the AI ​​function
  • Conceptualization of AI agents and promotion of agent use in initiatives
  • Monitoring the AI ​​technology and supplier market as a basis for portfolio and investment decisions
  • Establishes the structure of the documentation (Confluence) and ensures its accuracy and timeliness.
  • Well-founded recommendations for stopping, reprioritizing, or discontinuing initiatives when benefits are insufficient.
  • Review and reporting of the success of implemented projects based on the defined success criteria.

Your profile

  • Completed studies (ETH, University, University of Applied Sciences) in the field of business informatics, business administration or equivalent further education
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in managing complex IT/digital projects or programs, ideally with portfolio or matrix responsibility.
  • Leadership skills (professional and operational leadership)
  • Great interest in new technologies and keeps himself constantly up to date.
  • Ability to design and build AI agents (e.g., Microsoft Copilot agents)
  • Willingness and ability to help build structures, processes and governance from the ground up
  • Experience in AI governance, risk, or compliance is an advantage.
  • Confident handling of uncertainty, conflicting goals and incomplete information
  • Good social skills, pronounced abilities in communication, cooperation, delegation, organization, motivation
  • Recognizing connections, economic and entrepreneurial thinking skills
  • Independent, decisive person with negotiation skills and assertiveness
