Your responsibilities

As Senior AI Governance Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and embedding group-wide standards for AI governance within the organization. In your role within the Center of Excellence Data & AI, you will lead topics related to AI governance, AI frameworks, and cross-functional initiatives – without direct managerial responsibility. You will work closely with business units, technology, risk, compliance, legal, and data teams to enable the responsible, compliant, and effective use of artificial intelligence in a banking environment.

Your tasks:

  • They will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the group-wide AI governance framework, including policies, standards, controls, and guidelines.
  • They drive the operationalization of AI governance across the entire AI lifecycle – from capturing use cases and risk assessments to approvals, monitoring, and periodic review.
  • They act as a trusted point of contact for specialist departments, technology and control functions regarding Responsible AI practices, regulatory expectations and governance requirements.
  • They maintain an overview of AI use cases, inventories and documentation to ensure transparency, traceability in audits and consistent governance across different locations.
  • They monitor regulatory and industry-related developments concerning AI, data, model risks and digital banking, and translate these into practical requirements for the organization.
  • They create clear reports, recommendations and decision-making bases for senior stakeholders, governance bodies and relevant control functions.
  • They promote awareness and acceptance of Responsible AI through training, guidelines, and close collaboration with teams across the group.

Your profile

  • You have several years of experience in AI governance, model risk management or a related field, preferably in the banking, financial services or insurance sector.
  • They bring a very strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, including the associated risks, controls, and governance expectations throughout the entire AI lifecycle.
  • They are familiar with relevant regulatory and industry-standard frameworks such as the EU AI Act, FINMA expectations, MAS guidelines, Model Risk Management principles, and requirements for data protection and operational resilience.
  • They have a proven ability to lead topics, initiatives and stakeholder alignment in an international matrix organization without direct personnel management responsibility.
  • They are characterized by a structured, pragmatic and solution-oriented way of working, combined with strong analytical skills and the ability to ask constructive questions.
  • You have excellent written and spoken English skills and can translate complex technical and regulatory topics into clear business recommendations; German is an advantage.
  • Preferred qualifications include relevant certifications or further training in the areas of AI governance, risk management, compliance, auditing, data protection or information security.
