As an experienced data generalist with a proven track record of achieving business impact and optimizations through the use of data mining and machine learning techniques, you will support our team starting September 1, 2026, or by agreement, as a [position title - likely a specific individual or role].

Data Generalist / Senior Data Scientist-Engineer (w/m) 80 - 100%

Your tasks

  • Advising executives and cross-functional stakeholders on defining ML roadmaps, feasibility analyses, and translating business goals into concrete data-driven initiatives.
  • Conception, implementation and continuous optimization of data-driven solutions to support target group segmentation, the commercial funnel and the user journey.
  • Building, maintaining and optimizing stable data pipelines and high-performance data models using modern tools
  • End-to-end responsibility for machine learning models (predictive & prescriptive) – from exploratory data analysis and prototyping to deployment, monitoring and CI/CD (e.g. via GCP Vertex AI)
  • Experimental planning, support and evaluation of complex A/B tests, optimization of paywall and registration processes, and preparation of meaningful dashboards for progress measurement.
  • Establishment and promotion of modern standards in the areas of code quality, versioning, reproducibility and agile project methods (e.g. Kanban/Scrum) within the data scenario.

Your profile

  • Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or another quantitative field
  • At least 5-7 years of verifiable professional experience in the data field, as well as sound knowledge in all three core areas of the data landscape:
    • Data Science: Machine Learning (Predictive & Prescriptive) and sound knowledge of statistics
    • Data Engineering: Data modeling, building data pipelines, and practical experience with modern transformation tools.
    • Data Analytics: KPI definition, data visualization and dashboard development
  • Excellent understanding of experimental design, A/B testing, RCTs (Randomized Controlled Trials) and data-driven optimization of commercial funnels and user journeys.
  • Practical experience with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), preferably Vertex AI, BigQuery, and modern CI/CD and orchestration tools.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python and SQL
  • Experience with user journey and commercial funnels; experience with paywall, registration, and subscription models is highly welcome.
  • Good communication skills in English and German (at least level B) and the ability to work effectively across functions with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a pronounced "can-do" mentality, characterized by high initiative and a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach to work.

  • In this role, you will be a key liaison within the Growth Tribe (Technology organizational unit) and actively support squad and tribe leadership in developing the strategic innovation roadmap. You will independently maintain a comprehensive technical overview of the projects and ensure the end-to-end quality and lifecycle management of our machine learning solutions and data products.
