AI Engineer
At Zuger Kantonalbank, courage, a willingness to perform, and commitment count. We are looking for individuals who take responsibility and work with us to achieve ambitious goals. As a leading financial institution in the Canton of Zug, we offer a dynamic environment with an exciting local and international clientele. With innovative offerings and a strong team spirit, we empower you to shape the future, grow beyond your current capabilities, and directly experience success. Deploying
generative
AI in a startup is straightforward. In a regulated bank with FINMA oversight, the re-vDSG (German Data Protection Act), and real customer data, it becomes more challenging. That's precisely why we're looking for you. As an AI Engineer, you'll build our bank-wide AI platform from architecture to production operation. This involves not only prompts, models, and agents, but also solid engineering: secure cloud architectures, robust integrations, automated deployments, monitoring, operations, and governance. You'll help shape how generative and agentic AI is used securely, transparently, and in compliance with regulations – not as a proof-of-concept to be shelved, but as a reliable platform for our business units.
Building, operating, and further developing the bank-wide AI platform with Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and Azure AI Search, as well as implementing AI solutions from conception to production operation.
Designing and developing AI agents, copilots, and RAG architectures, utilizing internal knowledge sources and ensuring data quality, retrieval precision, hallucination control, authorization management, and traceability.
Seamlessly integrating AI services into existing applications, data platforms, and business processes using APIs, event and data flows, CI/CD pipelines, and suitable operating models.
Responsibility for guardrails, monitoring, logging, and governance to ensure security and regulatory compliance as integral components of the architecture
. Systematic development and quality assurance of prompts, agent workflows, test sets, and evaluation metrics for robust and production-ready AI solutions.
Close collaboration with data engineers, cloud engineers, architects, security teams, and business units to transform ideas into production-ready solutions.
Evaluation of new models, frameworks and Azure services in the field of Generative and Agentic AI, as well as a sound assessment of technological developments regarding their practical added value.
Our requirements:
Completed studies or advanced training in computer science, business informatics, data science or a related field; Alternatively, convincing practical evidence of equivalent expertise;
experience with relevant Azure services for the development and operation of AI models and agent-based workflows, ideally with Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Azure Machine Learning, and Azure Functions;
sound software engineering knowledge in Python, as well as experience in the professional integration of APIs and the sustainable embedding of solutions into existing system architectures;
practical experience with LLM-based solutions, especially RAG, agent systems, prompt engineering, and systematic evaluation;
knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and the operation of productive cloud solutions, including error analysis, performance optimization, cost awareness, and ensuring operational stability;
strong interest in security, data protection, and governance;
independent and structured work style, as well as excellent communication skills for exchanging information with specialist departments and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
Ready for the next step?
At Zuger Kantonalbank, you can expect attractive conditions and an environment that supports your success.
