Data Enabler, Spezialist/in Data Governance 80 - 100%
According to the resolution on the introduction of cantonal data governance (RRB No. 444/2026), data is to be managed systematically and its quality, availability, and use are to be further developed in a targeted manner. This will enable the canton to create the foundation for data-driven decisions, the multiple use of data, and the responsible application of new technologies, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence.
As the cantonal "Data Competence Center," the Statistical Office coordinates data governance within the Zurich cantonal administration. It supports the directorates and the State Chancellery with expert advice and central services for the further development of cantonal data maturity.
As part of this competence center, you will help build the infrastructure through which the Canton of Zurich will systematically manage its data for the first time.
We are seeking a
Data Enabler, Data Governance Specialist (80–100%) to start in September 2026 or by agreement.
Your tasks
- You advise data owners and data stewards on data management issues.
- You design training and empowerment programs that strengthen data literacy and foster a vibrant data culture. You support organizational units in implementing data governance guidelines and in their data projects.
- You support the organizational units in mapping their data landscape in the data catalog, thereby creating the basis for its targeted further development.
- You contribute your practical experience to the further development of standards, methods and tools for data governance.
Your profile
- Solid experience and practical skills in the areas of data governance, data management and data-related digitization.
- Knowledge of common frameworks (e.g. DAMA, DCAM) is an advantage.
- University degree in Data Science, Business Informatics or a comparable qualification.
- Strong skills in business analysis and communication.
- Experience in mediation, training or empowerment; didactic skills are an advantage.
- Excellent German skills, both spoken and written.
