Engineering and Development: Excellent skills in modern programming languages. You will develop AI and data-driven applications and safely deploy them in production environments. You will also build efficient CI/CD pipelines and automated tests to ensure the highest quality.

Solution and software architecture: Secure design of modular, highly available architectures. You are proficient in API design, integration patterns, and event-based systems, and derive precise technical solution concepts from complex requirements that remain maintainable in the long term.

Platform operations and automation: Solid knowledge of monitoring, scaling, and incident management. You are proficient in using Infrastructure-as-Code, container orchestration, and agent-based automation to guarantee stable, modern platform operations.

Collaboration and Delivery: You are experienced in agile teams, coordinating with data scientists and business analysts. You communicate technical information clearly, are responsible for end-to-end delivery, and drive the continuous improvement of our development processes.

Experience: Extensive experience in building and operating cloud-native platforms and in using modern open-source AI tool stacks. You are skilled in developing, integrating, and deploying AI-based applications and services.

Personality: Confident in the architecture and operation of scalable AI services in production environments. You are accustomed to working independently within a team, communicating complex technology in an understandable way, and collaboratively setting technological standards.

Education: Completed studies in computer science or software engineering. You bring valuable further training in cloud or AI technologies. Relevant certifications (e.g., Kubernetes) underscore your technical depth and professionalism.

IT BS is the internal IT service provider for the Canton of Basel-Stadt and is part of the Finance Department. The department provides the collaboration and communication infrastructure for mobile and stationary IT workstations and the associated support. In addition, IT BS continuously develops various e-government and digitalization services for the public. A functioning IT system is essential for the efficient operation of the cantonal administration.

The Cross-Functional Applications department drives digitalization in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Our modular ecosystem encompasses eGovernment, business administration, the bs.ch website (including its UX/design system), chatbots, and low-code, AI, and data platforms. As a member of the new cross-functional AI and Process Automation team, you will develop solutions that offer genuine added value to the cantonal administration. Through robust architectures and modern software development, you will sustainably increase customer satisfaction and actively shape the digital future of the canton.
