The Solution Software Engineer – Biopharma plays a key role in enabling Genedata’s biopharma customers to extend and successfully apply the Genedata Profiler platform in real‑world biopharma settings. The role focuses on close collaboration with customers and internal teams to understand complex scientific, technical and operational contexts and to shape robust, customer‑specific solutions that deliver measurable value.

This position reports to the Head of Customer Success Team and is part of the Genedata Profiler Business Unit, located in Basel.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Work with customers and internal teams to shape and deliver software extensions addressing concrete biopharma use cases.
• Own customer‑driven development projects end‑to‑end, from solution design through implementation, deployment, and handover.
• Build and maintain large scale data pipelines and AI assisted components to accelerate critical scientific and operational workflows.
• Deliver high‑quality, production‑ready software by applying established software engineering and DevOps best practices in a customer‑facing environment.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• A BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Multiple years of strong professional software engineering experience, preferably using Python.
• Hands‑on experience with SQL, including data modelling and performance optimization for large datasets.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively in English in customer‑facing and cross‑functional environments.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role

• Regular travel to customer sites within Europe (approximately once-twice a month).
• Occasional travel to the United States.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Application or dashboard development using frameworks such as Dash, Shiny, or Streamlit, and data analysis in Python or R.
• Working as a solution developer in digital CMC or other biopharma‑relevant domains.
