The COO Investment Management department at Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) is the operational backbone of the bank’s investment platform. It orchestrates the strategy, governance, processes, data, and technology that enable UBP’s investment teams to deliver high-quality, compliant, and scalable outcomes for clients across discretionary, advisory, and fund management activities.
- Mission
You will Work inside the Investments COO Investment Management (COO IM) Office and engage with our Buy-Side stakeholders, Discretionary Portfolio Managers (DPM), Product Specialists and Buy Side Analysts.
As a Portfolio Guardian, your mission is to safeguard the integrity, consistency, and client alignment of our managed portfolios across their entire lifecycle. You will act as the first line of defense for portfolio quality — ensuring that investment intent is faithfully implemented, risks are understood and controlled, and mandates remain compliant with guidelines and regulations.
You will also architect, build, and deploy high-impact software solutions in fast-moving, high-stakes environments inside the Investment Project and Tools team. You operate as a force multiplier across the stack — rapidly assessing the terrain, selecting the right tools, and executing with precision to deliver secure, resilient, and mission-critical capabilities.
Portfolio Guardian
- Take ownership of risk/breach dashboards and other Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) solutions, including end-to-end oversight of underlying data-sourcing processes.
- Create solutions that support Portfolio Managers in managing their discretionary mandates.
- Manage existing discretionary models and datasets, ensuring analytics tools correctly source, reconcile, and integrate data from external providers and cross-functional systems.
- Maintain First Line of Defence (LOD1) risk controls and produce high-quality presentations and reports for DPM leadership and internal teams.
- Administer and maintain databases; collaborate closely with Quant, Performance, and Reporting teams to align models, metrics, and delivery timelines.
Oversee and improve instrument data quality used in product factsheets (equities and bonds), including validation, enrichment, and issue remediation.
Front Office Tactical Commando
- Develop tactical solutions for the Investment Services floor in commando mode, in alignment with Union Bancaire Privée (UBP)’s technological framework.
- Optimize processes and tactical tools within Investment Services.
- Contribute to the analytical and technical analysis of business requirements
- Participate in transversal projects as part of the COO IM team.
Lead the design and delivery of Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and orchestrate their transition to production, coordinating handover and implementation with UBP IT.
- Your Profile
- You hold a degree in Economics, Business Administration, Financial Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or an equivalent quantitative/scientific discipline.
- You bring substantial experience working with large-scale, distributed datasets, as well as demonstrated expertise in automation and process optimization.
- You have a strong interest and relevant experience in the financial industry, with a solid understanding of investment instruments and/or applications of Artificial Intelligence within finance.
- You are proficient in Python development and writing complex SQL queries, with experience using APIs. You have excellent knowledge of the Pandas and NumPy packages and proven experience in project development or automation, data management, and data analysis.
- You have the confidence and credibility to challenge assumptions, question data integrity, and provide constructive, influential input.
- You are experienced in modeling and in presenting data with data visualization tools (ideally Power BI).
- You possess outstanding analytical, data-manipulation, and statistical-modeling skills, bringing strong quantitative rigor.
- You operate autonomously with a high level of accountability, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail.
- You are accustomed to managing multiple priorities in a high-paced environment.
- You are flexible, solutions-oriented, and intellectually curious, with a proven ability to solve complex problems and adapt to evolving priorities.
- Experience with OMS Aladdin and/or PMS AAA is a plus.
