We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking leader who is passionate about shaping the digital future. This position is a key role in the strategic development of our data platform, AI solutions, and integration and in-house software development. You will be part of Group IT, which supports approximately 7,000 workplaces at 170 locations and 200 construction sites worldwide. Implenia is a leader in cloud transformation and relies extensively on XaaS, SAP, and Microsoft platforms, particularly Azure. You will report directly to the Group CIO and be a member of the IT leadership team. Main tasks

Strategy & Vision

  • Development and implementation of a company-wide data and digitalization strategy
  • Definition of standards and governance for data platforms and AI applications

Technology & Platforms

  • Responsibility for the architecture and operation of modern data platforms (cloud, data lake, data warehouse)
  • Evaluation and introduction of innovative technologies in the field of AI, machine learning and automation

Leadership & Team Management

  • They lead and promote a diverse, interdisciplinary team and create an inclusive culture (20+ employees) consisting of data engineers, data scientists, software engineers and digital experts.
  • Promoting a data-driven culture across all areas of the company

Stakeholder Management

  • Close collaboration with specialist departments, IT and management to identify use cases and prioritize projects.
  • Communicating complex technical issues in an understandable form for different target groups.

Innovation & Implementation

  • Together with your team, you drive projects forward to develop digital solutions and AI-supported applications.
  • Ensuring the scalability and sustainability of all solutions

Qualifications

  • Completed studies in (business) informatics, data science or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience and people management in data analytics, data platforms and modern technologies (e.g. AI, ML & IoT)
  • Deep technical understanding of cloud architectures, data platforms (Microsoft Synapse/Fabric, Databricks), data integration, software development, and modern reporting, BI, and analytics tools.
  • Strong ability to reconcile technical and business requirements
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Strong stakeholder management and the ability to build bridges between business and IT.
  • Strategic thinking paired with a hands-on mentality and experience in agile development methods and project management
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., data protection, compliance)
  • Fluent German is a must, as is good written and spoken English.
