Job Description

We are looking for a Regulatory Data Governance Expert to support a Data Governance project for a leading banking client in Zurich. The focus is on assessing the current setup (as-is) from a regulatory perspective and defining a compliant target state (to-be), including a regulatory gap analysis.
Your Tasks:
  • Conduct a regulatory gap analysis (as-is vs. to-be) in the context of Data Governance
  • Analyse and assess the existing Data Governance organisation, processes, roles, controls, and data management practices
  • Map regulatory requirements to current processes, controls, and data flows
  • Identify compliance gaps, including risk and impact assessments
  • Derive concrete actions, recommendations, and prioritised measures to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Define a regulatorily compliant target state (to-be) in close alignment with key stakeholders
  • Support the preparation of decision papers and management-level documentation (e.g., Steering Committee materials)
  • Act as a sparring partner for project management and the client on regulatory topics throughout the project lifecycle
Your profile:
  • Proven experience with regulatory requirements in the banking sector (Switzerland/EU)
  • Deep expertise in Data Governance, Data Management, and Regulatory Compliance
  • Hands-on experience conducting regulatory gap analyses and assessments
  • Strong understanding of FINMA, EU, and international regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements pragmatically and in an implementation-oriented manner
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Nice to have:
  • Experience in large-scale transformation and/or Data Governance programmes
  • Experience with BCBS 239 implementation projects
  • Familiarity with standards and guidelines such as ISO 27001, NIST, and EBA Guidelines on ICT risks and outsourcing
