Job Description

As a Senior Data Engineer, you are our specialist for everything related to data flow and infrastructure. You bring over 3 years of experience in building ELT pipelines and combine strong SQL and Python skills with a good understanding of data modeling in modern cloud environments ( GCP, Snowflake, Databricks ). You work on a project basis – sometimes independently, sometimes closely as part of a team with software engineers, data scientists, or directly at the client's site.

Your tasks:

  • You will develop and maintain ELT data pipelines with dbt in GCP, Snowflake and/or Databricks environments .
  • You build and maintain data models for analytics use cases – from the raw data layer to consumable marts.
  • You connect new data sources – if necessary, also via custom connectors.
  • You apply software engineering best practices in a data engineering context: versioning (Git), code reviews, testing (e.g., dbt tests), CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code ( Terraform ).
  • You will be responsible for the deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization of your pipelines and cloud resources.
  • Depending on the project, you will work closely with software engineers, data scientists, or directly with specialist departments at the client's company.

Your technical profile:

  • >3 years of experience as a Data Engineer, including experience with at least one hyperscaler ( GCP/Snowflake/Databricks)
  • Very confident handling of SQL – you think in sets, not just in statements.
  • Solid Python skills – equivalent to SQL – are part of your daily toolkit.
  • Experience with dbt or comparable transformation frameworks
  • Understanding of data modeling and the construction of consumable data layers
  • Terraform knowledge is desirable
  • Familiarity with software engineering practices: Git, testing, CI/CD
  • Apache Spark/PySpark is advantageous, but not mandatory.

Your profile (soft skills):

  • You are adaptable – you quickly get along in different project and team constellations, whether working independently or as part of a team.
  • You are a pragmatic problem solver.
  • You are curious and enjoy learning about new technologies.
  • You can clearly coordinate with colleagues and customers.
  • You are fluent in German and English.

What we offer you – a place where you can grow and shine!

  • Attractive prospects for your career and personal development
  • Flat hierarchies and an open, team-oriented work culture with plenty of creative freedom.
  • Work-life balance – in a region with high recreational value
