Job Description

With a new real-time data platform, we are creating the foundation for significantly more precise forecasts and data-driven decisions. If you want to use modern streaming technologies and help shape a strategically important platform from the very beginning, then you've come to the right place.

Your sphere of influence

  • You will develop key components for a modern real-time data platform and accompany it from conception to productive operation.
  • Together with experts from different disciplines, you will shape architectural and design decisions for scalable data and platform solutions.
  • You implement streaming solutions with Apache Kafka and Apache Flink and ensure their stability and quality.
  • The further development of deployment, automation, and operational processes is part of your responsibilities.
  • You analyze complex technical issues in a structured manner and derive pragmatic solutions for sustainable platforms.
  • With your expertise, you will contribute to building a new data platform that will significantly enhance BKW's forecasting capabilities.

Your strengths

  • You have several years of experience in software engineering, data engineering or platform engineering and are comfortable working in production-like environments.
  • Solid knowledge of Apache Kafka and Apache Flink enables you to successfully implement distributed systems and streaming architectures.
  • You confidently use German and English in your daily work and communicate appropriately for different audiences on different levels.
  • You are characterized by an independent and proactive work style, and you identify tasks before someone else needs to assign them.
  • Openness and a constructive approach to different stakeholders will help you to develop sustainable solutions together.
  • Knowledge of Java or Python as well as experience with Kubernetes, Azure Cloud or modern
