About the role:
In this role, you will work in a cross-functional team on the design, development, and operation of data-driven backend services for traffic analytics and operational applications.
Depending on your profile, your focus will be more on backend development, data-intensive systems , or DevOps-oriented product responsibility . In any case, you will be involved throughout the entire software lifecycle
. You will work closely with product owners, analysts, data engineers, platform teams, and business units to deliver stable, scalable, and future-proof analytics solutions.

Backend / System-oriented
- Design and development of backend services and APIs with Java and Spring Boot
- Processing and providing large amounts of data for analysis and reporting purposes
- Further development, migration and refactoring of system components and interfaces
- Collaboration on data products within a modern data mesh architecture
- Support for the solution throughout its entire lifecycle: Design, Implementation, Testing, Deployment, Operation
- Ensuring stability, maintainability and production readiness
Cooperation & Product Delivery
- Close collaboration with product owners and specialist departments to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Contributing to refinement, estimation, and planning in an agile setup
- Supporting testing activities and ensuring sufficient test coverage
- Technical interface between development, platform and operations teams
Cloud / DevOps
Essential skills:
- Development and operation of services in cloud-native environments
- Working with containerized applications (Docker) on Kubernetes / OpenShift
- Collaboration with DevOps and platform teams on CI/CD, deployments and operations
- Completed computer science studies or equivalent professional experience
- Several years of experience as a Backend Software Engineer
- Excellent knowledge of Java and Spring Boot
- Experience in developing backend services and APIs
- Experience in agile software projects (Scrum, SAFe or Kanban)
- Independent, structured work style with a high degree of personal responsibility
- Good communication skills and team orientation
- Experience with cloud platforms, Docker and Kubernetes / OpenShift
- Experience with data-intensive systems or analytics platforms
- Knowledge of data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake)
- Experience with event or streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka)
- Experience with ( near) real-time applications
- Frontend knowledge (e.g., Angular ) is an advantage.
- Interest or experience in the field of Data Science or Advanced Analytics
