Job Description

Location: Zug, Switzerland
Experience level: Entry-level professional
Employment type: Temporary - Full-time

Moving forward with momentum – together with you.
We've been part of the Zug region for over 130 years – and we're full of energy for what's to come. We don't stand still. We're dynamic: with exciting projects in energy, water, and telecommunications. At the same time, we remain a reliable partner for tomorrow. This blend of tradition and innovation makes WWZ special. Our jobs offer opportunities for development and the chance to actively shape the future of the region. Sound like you? Then join us.

As a university intern in Data Engineering, you'll work where data becomes insights. You'll support our team in building and operating modern data platforms and gain a solid understanding of the data-driven world of a systemically important company.

You work with real data, real questions and modern technologies, always in collaboration between IT, specialist departments and business.

You can achieve this

  • You will help to merge, process and make usable data from different systems, using relational and analytical databases such as MS SQL, Oracle or Snowflake.
  • You will learn how to create stable data pipelines and how to ensure a clean understanding of data.
  • Together with the team, you will further develop data models and support the creation of reports and dashboards in Power BI.
  • You will gain insight into cloud platforms like Azure and learn how data engineering works in the cloud environment.
  • You work with Git, are involved in DevOps and CI/CD processes, support testing, and learn to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

You bring this with you

  • You are studying computer science, business informatics, data science or a related subject and are strongly interested in data engineering.
  • You have a basic understanding of databases and ideally bring initial experience or a strong interest in DevOps, CI/CD and version control (Git).
  • You have excellent analytical thinking skills and enjoy understanding technical and professional contexts.
  • You work in a structured manner, take responsibility, and persevere even when things get challenging.
  • Resilience, a willingness to learn, and openness to new technologies are among your strengths.
  • You enjoy working in a team, organize your time independently, and want to continuously develop yourself.

We offer you this

  • A university internship with purpose and a future.
  • A stable environment with a pioneering spirit, short decision-making processes and plenty of creative freedom.
  • Professional support, the use of modern technologies, and the development of relevant skills far beyond the internship.
  • A team that shares knowledge, embraces collaboration, and specifically promotes young talent.
