Job Description

We are opening a Data Business Analyst position to strengthen our client's team based in Geneva . The role is part of a data transformation program aimed at implementing a new semantic layer to make the data usable for advanced applications such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. The role involves structuring business and technical requirements and supporting the preparation of an exploratory phase (Proof of Concept).

Job Responsibilities

  • Gather and formalize the functional and technical requirements related to the implementation of a semantic data layer.
  • Organize and lead workshops with the various stakeholders (IT teams, business teams and data specialists).
  • Study the existing ecosystem of tools in order to identify current limitations and possible areas for improvement.
  • To propose guidelines regarding data governance, semantic structuring and cataloging practices.
  • Produce the deliverables necessary for the project scoping: workshop reports, needs summary, process mapping and recommendations.
  • Participate in drafting the specifications for the design phase of the target solution.
  • Contribute to the preparation and execution of a Proof of Concept aimed at testing innovative approaches or solutions.
  • Supporting the project team in the overall structuring of the data initiative.
  • University degree or equivalent qualification in a field related to information systems or data management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business analysis, data management or data systems transformation.
  • Experience on projects related to data cataloging or semantic structuring.
  • Good command of data catalog solutions (e.g. Collibra, Alation, DataGalaxy) and of the concepts of governance, taxonomy and ontologies.
  • Knowledge of ERP environments (such as SAP or Oracle) and data exchange issues is appreciated.
  • Solid mastery of functional analysis methods and project management practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent command of French and ability to work in English in a professional context.
