(Senior) Data Engineer – HealthTech / Digital Health

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Data Pipelines & Data Integration
• You consolidate heterogeneous data sources (app tracking, backend services, external partners)
• You build scalable, automated pipelines (ingestion, transformation, orchestration)
• You ensure a robust, secure and reliable data supply.
• Data Platform Engineering
• Development and operation of a modern analytics/data platform (DWH, Lakehouse, Semantic Layer)
• Modeling, performance tuning and operation of a scalable cloud data architecture (GCP is an advantage)
• Support for AI/ML use cases such as personalization, recommendation, or data insights.
• Data Quality, Monitoring & Observability
• You establish standards for data quality (validation, tests, SLAs)
• You will build monitoring and alerting mechanisms (pipeline health, SLAs, error handling)
• You are responsible for a reliable reporting setup.
• Tracking & Product Development
• Close collaboration with Engineering & Product for clean app/web tracking
• Definition and further development of tracking concepts (events, journeys, funnels)
• Ensuring data-driven product management
• Analytics & Insights
• Further development of reports towards funnel/journey-based analyses (cohorts, retention, drop-offs, conversion)
• Deriving optimization potential and recommendations for action
• Presentation of insights for product, business and management

REQUIREMENTS PROFILE

• Must-haves
• Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Business Informatics or similar.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Analytics Engineering
• Extensive hands-on experience in:
• Cloud Data Engineering (idealerweise GCP)
• Building robust pipelines (dbt, Dataform, Kestra, Airbyte or similar)
• DWH/Lakehouse Modeling
• Data Quality, SLAs, Monitoring
• Excellent knowledge of SQL & Python
• Experience with app/web tracking, funnel analysis, and experiments
• Ability to translate stakeholder questions into data solutions and insights.
• Independent, structured, analytical work style
• Fluent German and English skills
• Nice-to-have
• Experience with AI/ML use cases, conversational interfaces, and recommendation engines
• Startup, scale-up or venture experience
• Agile mindset & high willingness to learn
