Senior Data Engineer MS Fabric Lakehouse

For our client in the Swiss health insurance industry, we are seeking an experienced Data Engineer specializing in Microsoft Fabric and Azure. In this role, you will be responsible for developing scalable data pipelines for sales based on the Medallion architecture and for providing high-quality data foundations for business intelligence and analytics.

Tasks:

• Design and management of Azure environments for the use of Microsoft Fabric

• Development and maintenance of end-to-end data pipelines with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse) and Azure Data Factory

• Data integration and transformation with PySpark from various source systems (sales, policies, CRM)

• Optimization of Spark-based workflows (partitioning, caching, performance tuning)

• Development of scalable, cloud-native solutions while adhering to data quality and governance standards.

• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

• Close collaboration with data analysts, data scientists, specialist departments and stakeholders

Requirements:

• Completed studies in computer science, business informatics or a comparable qualification

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering with Synapse, Microsoft Fabric or related roles

• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and PySpark

• Experience with medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold) and Delta Lake

• Familiarity with Spark optimization techniques (partitioning, caching, performance tuning)

• Understanding CI/CD principles and working in such an environment

• Insurance expertise, particularly in the area of ​​sales (policies, premiums, distribution channels)

• You love tackling complex data challenges and developing efficient solutions that deliver real added value.

• You have a keen eye for detail and are committed to maintaining high standards for data quality.

• Fluent German and English skills
