Senior Cloud Data Engineer

Synotis, a SMILE Group company specializing in data project implementation, is currently seeking a Talend Engineer to join its team. Our services are organized into two business lines: Consulting and Data Management. We support our clients in implementing their data strategy, from governance to the deployment of tailored, efficient, and scalable architectures.

In this significant dynamic of recruitment and new projects, we are looking for a Senior Cloud Data Engineer to join us in this adventure.

MISSIONS :

1. Design & development of data pipelines

• Build ingestion, transformation and orchestration pipelines (batch & streaming).

• Developing on Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake).

• Developing on Databricks (pyspark, medallion architecture, Delta Live Tables).

• Implement ETL/ELT flows via Talend or other solutions (ADF, NiFi etc…).

2. Architecture Data & Cloud

• Design modular, secure and scalable cloud data architectures .

• Define the data models (conceptual, logical, physical).

• Participate in the choice of technologies and the structuring of platforms

• Participation in the development of CI/CD, monitoring, quality and security of data platforms.

• Propose architectural patterns on Azure:

  • Lakehouse

  • Medallion

  • Real-time ingestion

  • Multi-tenant / multi-project

  • Best practices sur OneLake / Fabric / Databricks

3. Data Governance & Quality

• Participate in the implementation of Data Quality (DQ), Data Observability, lineage, catalogues.

• Contribute to governance (security, RLS/OLS, rights, compliance).

4. Support & Expertise

• Challenge business needs and propose suitable solutions.

• Supporting teams and clients in skills development.

• Participate in technical reviews, POCs, and architectural scoping.

Technical skills required

Cloud & Data Platform

• Azure (required)

• Microsoft Fabric (highly required)

  • Data Factory

  • Lakehouse / Warehouse

  • KQL / KQL Database

  • Pipelines

  • Governance (domains, security, RLS/OLS)

• Databricks (pyspark, Delta, Medallion)

• Mandatory completion of projects related to the technologies mentioned above (Prerequisite)

• Knowledge of Power BI to expose data

ETL / ELT

• Talend (preferred)

• Or other ETL/ELT tools: ADF, Synapse, Fabric Data Factory, Informatica, DBT, ….

Languages

• Python, PySpark

• Advanced SQL

• Knowledge of PowerShell/Bash is appreciated.

Architecture

• Real-time (Event Hub, Kafka, IoT Hub)

• CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)

• Observability, quality, monitoring

Desired profile

• 5 to 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering

• Significant experience on Azure

• Solid experience with Fabric OR Databricks (ideally both)

• Experience in designing cloud data architectures

• Azure / Databricks / Fabric certifications preferred

Bonus

• IoT experience, real-time or streaming

• Experience with multi-tenant data platforms

• Knowledge of the DataOps methodology
