General information: Start date: ASAP Duration: 12 months (extension possible) Workload: 100% Work location: Basel On behalf of our client we are looking for an experienced Clinical Study Data Engineer to ensure the successful implementation of a Clinical Platform application, which streamlines clinical study management in early phase trials. To succeed in this role you will develop a strong understanding of the data flow from collection to analysis and filing to user access. Main tasks: Organisation, data flow, and integration of clinical and medical data of various types, such as binary images, image masks, tabular bioassay and tabular clinical data Leading activities around data flows and interfaces to retrieve clinical image data and image annotations, and establishing data standards with external partners Leading regular data integration efforts with external and internal partners, standardizing interfaces and providing feedback on relevant specifications Data wrangling of heterogeneous, multimodal and longitudinal data to perform QC and discover new insights Developing robust and fit-for-purpose solutions for data management, governance, provisioning, QC, and visualisation using databases, file systems, and cloud platforms Documenting datasets and dataset access services and maintaining dataset specifications Establishing links between existing infrastructure and semantic storage and retrieval capabilities Qualification and Experience: M.Sc in Computer Science, Biology or similar discipline Very good practical IT skills and mastering of standard technologies (Web services, HTTP, UNIX, shell programming) Proven experience with data warehousing, data ingestion, and data profiling Proficiency with relational database queries (SQL), pivoting data, and working with clinical data standards(e.g. SDTM format) Ability to work out and report on data summaries of clinical datasets and dataset samples Proficient in Python and/or R, and git Clinical imaging experience (preferably Ophthalmology, Neurology or similar) Proficiency with standard medical image formats (e.g. DICOM, TIFF, MHD) Proficiency with proprietary formats is a plus Comfortable working with other teams, scientific computing and data architects, to offer robust and fit-for-purpose solutions Communication skills for presenting results and ensuring alignment with stakeholders and business partners. Mastering of business intelligence software (e.g. Spotfire) Strong team player, flexible and with a high degree of self-organization, proactive and able to work in matrix environment Fluent in English
