Do you love technical challenges and do you want to make a difference with machine learning applications? Do you want to get to know and apply cloud technologies to integrate ML models into business processes? The young and dynamic “AI/ML Analytics” team is based at Coop Informatik and, as a central competence center for analytics and AI, works on issues for the various departments of the Coop Group. As a DevOps Engineer, you will become part of our ML engineering and DevOps team and work actively on the implementation and automation of various projects from day one. To do this, you use well-known machine learning packages (e.g. Tensorflow, xgBoost or NLP language models) and the latest technologies on the cloud such as Kubernetes, Airflow or Docker. LLMs (e.g. from OpenAI or Google Cloud) are also part of your tech stack. The main areas of activity represent a balanced relationship between teamwork and individual work. Our experienced data scientists/ML engineers are available to support you.


  • Building, deploying & maintaining data & ML pipelines with cloud technologies
  • Transferring machine learning prototypes into productive operation (writing robust code, reviews of machine learning algorithms and statistical models, ensuring compliance with standards and taking operational responsibility for them)
  • Further development, maintenance & operation of our analytics & ML platform (internal software packages for Python & R, CI/CD pipelines, Airflow, Kubernetes & Docker in a cloud environment)
  • Incorporating LLMs and other available models into our infrastructure
  • Further development of ongoing ML applications with data scientists and business stakeholders
  • Work mainly in DevOps mode, taking operational responsibility for ML applications, pipelines and platform
  • Close collaboration with our data engineering team and the departments responsible for upstream and downstream processes
  • Participation in projects and/or agile product teams


  • Several years of experience in the area of ​​MLOps, DevOps or the operation of IT solutions
  • Completed university degree, e.g. data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, physics, etc.
  • Very good knowledge of Python
  • Knowledge of R and SQL desirable
  • Knowledge of statistics, particularly model validation and statistical metrics
  • Grundlegendes Machine Learning Know-how
  • Perseverance and persistence in solving technical problems
  • Willingness to take on operational responsibility after training
  • Interested in building ML applications and automation as well as working at the interface of data science and computer science
  • In general, a high willingness to familiarize yourself with new tools and methods
