We are a Swiss MedTech venture with the vision to use state-of-the-art detection techniques to continuously monitor and learn from a wide range of vital indicators, to better manage chronic diseases, to customize critical treatments and, to improve your health.
Using proprietary optical sensors, Spiden is building a cutting-edge biomedical data generation pipeline to train medical-grade Machine Learning algorithms to infer glucose transcutaneously from spectral measurements. To achieve our vision, our team and advisory board consist of world experts coming from top academic institutions (ETH, EPFL, Columbia, Princeton, or Harvard among others) and industry leaders (Baxter, Roche, Lonza). We are looking for a talented, experienced, voraciously curious, and self-driven professional with great opportunities for growth.
Responsibilities
As a Machine Learning Research Scientist, among other topics you will work on:
  • Optimize and refactor existing ML-related code to enhance efficiency, readability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with the Machine Learning and Engineering teams to design, develop, and implement machine learning models and solutions in production environments that involve cloud, device and smartphone computing.
  • Utilize cloud-based ML platforms such as Sagemaker and VertexAI to streamline and scale ML workflows.
  • Employ cutting-edge MLOps tools for monitoring and model management, as well as for Hyperparameter tuning
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine learning model performance, data pipelines, and deployment.
  • A passion for staying at the forefront of the machine learning field and embracing the latest MLOps practices.
  • A product mindset, understanding that the output of your work is consumed by internal and external users, therefore it is your responsibility to build data and ML products that excite them.

If you have experience with ML trainers in product-related environment, especially using PyTorch or TensorFlow, and are familiar with tools like Sagemaker or VertexAI, we want to hear from you.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Machine Learning Engineering role.
  • Proficiency in Python, with a strong track record of writing clean and maintainable code.
  • Docker expert and practical experience with Kubernetes for orchestration.
  • Employ cutting-edge MLOps tools for monitoring and model management, as well as for Hyperparameter Tuning
  • Familiarity with cloud-based MLOps platforms, such as Sagemaker and VertexAI.
