Job Description
AXA Switzerland is taking a significant step towards a “data driven company” and is planning to establish a lakehouse platform on the Google Cloud. We are looking for an experienced person to join the new team and be involved in this crucial development. With our platform we want to build a future-oriented self-serve data platform that is based on the requirements of the data mesh approach.
Support the new Lakehouse team in defining and implementing a robust Lakehouse architecture, ensuring that frameworks, blueprints and documentation are created, and providing advice to the development teams in their work on the platform.
Your contribution
- You will bring your experience and skills to advance the design and construction of a lakehouse architecture in the Google Cloud
- You develop (Python) frameworks (data ingestion, data quality, data protection, metadata) to enable a self-serve data platform
- You advise and support development teams in the conception and implementation of the source system connection through to “consumer-aligned” data products
- You operate the platform in the spirit of DevOps and ensure continuous improvement
- You follow technology developments in the area of data engineering and are involved in the evaluation and introduction of new tools and services
Your skills and talents
- You have a university degree (ETH, Uni, FH) in computer science, data science, business informatics or comparable training
- You have experience in developing data engineering projects in the Google Cloud
- You have already gained experience in building lakehouses, data lakes or data warehouses and know what it takes to build them successfully
- You have excellent programming skills, especially in Python
- You are familiar with the topic of data mesh or are willing to delve into this topic
- You are interested in the topics of “computable” data governance and data architecture and are able to develop innovative solutions
- You speak German and English fluently
