Job Description

The team

Our blend of dynamic personalities, stories and skills is one of our biggest sources of energy and pride. It defines our culture and makes our success attainable. Every day and for every project, every team member is focused on building trust and exceptional value.
The Insights team invests time in securing and creating the highest industry standards of data collection, management, analysis, and reporting. Consequently, our central research hub underpins everything we do, delivering robust support for strategy, sales and partnerships management and guiding decision making with objective analysis.

The role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Management Executive to join our Insights team. You will be amongst a dedicated team of Insights experts that all have specific areas of expertise and responsibility. You will propose, setup and manage the tools and develop the skills of the team to optimise data management for all its subdisciplines (data quality checking, data enrichment, etc). In addition, you will recommend, build, and maintain a range of solutions that allow TEAM stakeholders to extract and receive insights and data directly in near-time/real-time. You will report to the Senior Insights Manager.

Your responsibilities will include the following:
  • Identification, recommendation, and execution of all data management related projects with the overarching goal to constantly improve TEAM Insights’ reporting quality, and dashboard and database infrastructure:
    • Carrying out pre-processing of structured and unstructured data with the end goal to either automate analysis or prepare the data for analysis (processing, cleansing, enriching, and validating)
    • Enhancing data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytics systems
    • Recommending and executing the usage of enhanced data management techniques to optimise the current dataflows and data pipeline, from data sourcing to extraction to QA (quality assurance) and reporting
    • Owning and optimising TEAM Insights’ current data management infrastructure
  • Be a central point of contact for the selected external data management consulting agency
  • Enhancing TEAM Insights’ current capabilities in data management and big data analysis by setting up a training agenda and executing these trainings
  • Management of all third-party Business Intelligence subscriptions, including sharing data and insights with the full company and relevant departments

The candidate

You have experience working in data engineering or a similar role, ideally in a non-technology company with similar responsibilities. Experience managing external agencies and consultants within the data engineering space is a plus. Your ability to collaborate with and clearly articulate complex information to all audiences allows you to be an effective liaison between business and technology teams. Likewise, you are able to conceptualise and visualise dashboards and data to a non-technical audience in an understandable way. Your in-depth understanding across all aspects of data management and protocols will be vital, including managing ETL (extract, transform and load) processes, defining and executing quality assurance, and working with SQL databases and executing queries.

Additionally, you are strong in the following areas:
  • Ambition: you love to grow and improve, learn, and develop
  • Diligence: you have an excellent attention to detail and proven track record of working under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Collaboration: you use your interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset to create meaningful relationships across all stakeholders.
  • Integrity: you are committed to doing things the right way; you value honesty, transparency, and fairness
  • Fluency in English: you speak and write fluently in English; other languages are an advantage.
