Your contribution
As a Senior Data and Machine Learning Scientist, you'll dive deep into all phases of data science projects – from data comprehension to integrating solutions into our products and services. You'll architect and refine machine learning applications, provide data insights through modeling and visualization, and play a pivotal role in the prototyping and implementation of novel software technologies. Moreover, your expertise will be vital in mentoring trainees, identifying patentable innovations, and actively contributing to the creation of new patents.
As a Senior Data and Machine Learning Scientist at Tecan, you will:
- Project Lifecycle Involvement: Oversee every stage of data science projects, from data comprehension to solution integration.
- Machine Learning Mastery: Develop and refine advanced machine learning applications, extending our ML libraries and frameworks.
- Data Insights and Visualization: Deliver actionable insights through robust data modelling, mining, and visualization techniques.
- Prototyping & Technology Implementation: Prototype and transfer innovative software technologies into development projects.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Guide trainees and students while collaborating with cross-functional teams for synergistic outcomes.
- Innovation & Patent Creation: Identify patentable ideas and contribute to the creation of new patents.
Your background
We’re not just looking for hard skills: We’re looking for people who bring their passion and talent to work
- A technical degree, preferably in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with further education in data science and machine learning
- A strong foundation in .Net Framework and software technologies, coupled with 5-10+ years of experience in commercial software component development
- Proficiency in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision methods, coupled with hands-on experience with Python and its scientific libraries
- A keen focus and passion for anticipating and solving future customer challenges
- Knowledge in liquid handling and robotics is beneficial
- Familiarity with Cloud-based technologies is of advantage
- Forward-thinking, team-oriented, curious and flexible with a creative and solution-focused mindset, complemented by an independent, efficient work style
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and written in English and capable of doing original contribution / publication in professional field
