C++ Software Engineering Internship

We are looking for ways to bring big refactoring of our code to market fast. The reason for that is that we have legacy code in need of simplification and streamlining. For that we need a person 100% committed to make our codebase more safe, reliable and performant.

Your typical day will revolve around understanding legacy code, coming up with improved designs, communicating those designs, and ultimately developing them. We are very much aware of the iterative nature of software development, so it’s not always going to be so easy, but the right person will be dedicated and focused on overcoming these barriers and passionate about having REAL IMPACT on one of the world's most advanced robotics platforms.

You will be closely working together with a Senior Software Engineer who will provide you with guidance and mentorship. The preferred starting date is November and the duration of the full-time paid internship is six months.

Our end customers are large asset operators and service providers of industrial plants, Pioneering the use of robotics technology for inspection and maintenance. Our products enable autonomous routine inspections and monitoring of large scale industrial facilities for increased safety and productivity. Our mobile robot ANYmal uses legs for extreme mobility in complex environments, camera- and LIDAR-based sensing for full autonomy and obstacle avoidance, and AI for high-quality and consistent inspection results. As One Team we have proven the technology and the business impact to our customers in long-term pilot projects and are preparing to scale-up sales of our commercial product.

Your Profile

• • Currently a master or recent graduate in computer science, or related fields at a Swiss educational institute (university or applied school of technology)
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience with object-oriented programming in C++
  • Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work independently
  • Basic understanding of control theory, system modeling and mechatronics is a plus
