The Psychiatric University Clinic (PUK) has stood for innovative psychiatry for over 150 years. In the greater Zurich area, it is a leader in care, research and teaching, is an attractive employer and an important training center with international networks. Since it was founded in 1870, the now independent public institution has been treating people with mental illnesses and offering help in crisis situations. As a university clinic, the PUK has a range of services and know-how across all age groups and in forensics that is unique in Switzerland. It consists of the following clinics: • Clinic for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics • Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy • Clinic for Geriatric Psychiatry and Psychotherapy • Clinic for Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy PUK employs around 2,200 people who work in interdisciplinary treatment teams to look after the well-being of patients. For the inpatient, day clinic and outpatient treatment of mentally ill people, there are over 560 beds and several differentiated outpatient, day clinic and inpatient offers including various regional and national special facilities. Basic care includes assessment, diagnostics and therapy for patients with mental disorders of all kinds. who take care of the well-being of the patients in interdisciplinary treatment teams.
