To strengthen our Life Sciences team, we are immediately looking for an Intern Data Engineering with Life Sciences Background - (m/f/d) for a period of 6+ months.

Bring to life what's next

• Collaborate with the team to develop effective and engaging presentations for clients.
• Develop storylines that effectively communicate complex data analysis to a non-technical audience.
• Work with team members to create compelling data visualizations that support the storylines of presentations.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and workflows using programming languages such as Python, R or Java, and related tools such as Airflow, Luigi, or Jenkins.
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate data processing tasks.
• Collaborate with data scientists and data analysts to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and quality.
• Build and maintain data storage and retrieval systems (e.g. data warehouses) to enable efficient data management.
• Assist with data cleaning, processing, and analysis tasks as required.
• Assist with the development and implementation of data management and governance frameworks.
• Continuously evaluate and improve presentation and storyline effectiveness based on client feedback.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members to ensure timely and effective project delivery.

Your qualifications

• Academic excellence: currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Industry knowledge: solid understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms. Demonstrated interest in the Life Sciences industry and its applications.
• Consulting experience: previous experiences in consulting favorable.
• Conceptual talent: strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Communication and presentation skills: fluent in English (written and spoken). German (Zurich/Basel) or French skills (Lausanne/Geneva) mandatory (C1 level). Strong communication skills and proficiency in presentation software such as PowerPoint, Prezi, or other relevant tools.
• Digital affinity: strong programming skills in Python, R. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
• Cultural fit: high reliability, team spirit and personal fit for a leading global management consulting firm (international orientation & openness to travel, integrity).
• Duration of employment: min. 6 months
