The Head of Software Engineering is part of the Worldline Acquiring Global Product leadership team and manages a cluster of up to 6 teams.

As a leader within a technology organization you are setting an example in leadership for the people working in our organization by setting an example in leadership style according to our Worldline values and being able to describe the technology strategy to our people and stakeholders;

You will support our organization to drive together with your teams and peers the long-term technology strategy for our acquiring processing backend and ensure high quality delivery of business features and smooth operation of our products.

  • You sustain and evolve our high-performance & high-quality culture and foster our DevOps and cloudification mindset including build and run and "automate the hell out of everything"
  • You implement and optimize the internal delivery methodology, define, and refine implementation metrics and expose results within the organization
  • You define and drive acquiring processing tech strategy and transforming it into roadmap delivery items and key team objectives / measurements
  • You are a champion in DevOps transformations and lead your organization from front
  • You are actively engaged with your teams making sure that we are an attractive employer in the region and beyond.
  • You support creating guidelines and frameworks for all roles within your area
  • You thrive to continuously find ways to improve the performance of our organization, maintainability of the platform, collaboration with our stakeholders and knowledge management
  • You work with your peers and your teams to create and follow up on detailed project execution plans where required and ensure alignment and team work with your teams and stakeholders across the greater worldline organization
  • You are “hands-on” and will be able and available to step into the delivery where needed.
  • You are well versed with creating meaningful relationships within Worldline for a successful partnership (e. g. Corporate IT, Professional Services, Cloud Competence Center)

Our requirements:

  • Experience in defining & driving a tech strategy and transforming this into a delivery roadmap delivery and key team objectives
  • Experience in working with geographically dispersed teams, onshore, offshore, and nearshore
  • 10 or more years experience in agile software engineering including prior experience in one or more of the following topics: (Sec)DevOps, SDLC, CICD, Microservices, Cloudification
  • 5 or more years of people management experience,
  • Preferable knowledge of the acquiring business domain or prior payments experience
  • Ability to work in an international environment
  • A proactive attitude and ability to align with stakeholders to deliver in time, quality, and cost
  • Very good communication and presentation skills, fluent in English, German is a plus
