Description
We are looking for an Head of Software Engineering to complement our Engineering team and assist the Director with handling the department’s operations. The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams of experienced professionals and daily liaise with the Engineering Director to ensure the alignment of the Engineering roadmaps with the business goals.
Responsibilities

You are responsible for the successful execution of Engineering Strategies within the Engineering department

Together with the Engineering Director, you shape the vision for Engineering that enable Frontiers’ strong growth

You manage a team of experienced Engineering Managers, ensuring their alignment with the other Engineering units and the coordination with cross-departmental initiatives

You coach, mentor and manage performance of your team members in alignment with the Frontiers principles and business objectives

You are responsible for hiring senior team members and setting up the most appropriate structures within your team and within Engineering, in alignment with the Engineering Director

You ensure that the teams you manage and the corresponding team members fully understand the business objectives, their initiatives are aligned to them and establish a healthy communication channel to keep the alignment with the leadership team

Planning together with the single threaded leaders on the business side to ensure the right planning and resource allocation.

Together with the Engineering Director, you set up the best methodologies to work within the department and ensure the swift execution of the Engineering roadmaps and initiatives

You will help create a balance with our Engineering counterparts, shaping up the way we create a valuable knowledge sharing flow within the Technology department

You will regularly deep dive into the data generated by Frontiers’ products to bring clarity into the successes and failures of the initiatives within your department

You will proactively propose and lead cross-departmental initiatives related to our Objectives and key results (OKRs)
Requirements
We seek enthusiastic team players with great initiative and a get-it-done attitude. Candidates must be able to handle a fast paced work environment while juggling several different tasks at the same time. Excellent organisational, communications, and multi-tasking skills are musts.
Minimum skills
-
Ten years of working experience in the development of Digital Products, of which at least 5 within an Engineering unit

Three or more years of experience as a Head of Product or above, managing teams of experienced product managers

Previous experience in scale-up environments

Experience with at least one of the following: Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Products, Customer Journeys and User Experience, Process-Driven Products, Change Management, Digital Platforms, Data Products

Data savviness and fluency, capability to comfortably engage in technical discussions with senior data scientists and experienced machine-learning engineers

Ability to deep dive into raw datasets to find key information that will enable you to make decisions for your product

Strong analytical skills and independent, entrepreneurial approach,
