Robeco Switzerland Ltd. is a leading asset manager in the field of sustainable investing (SI). The SI Data Engineering department is responsible for transforming SI data into decision useful information for workflows including sustainability research, idea generation, and reporting. We are currently looking for motivated, young professionals to join our team of data scientists for a 6 month internship based in Zurich, preferred start May 2023.
We are searching for people who are passionate about sustainability and data analytics, and would like to join an asset manager that drives sustainable business practices through financial markets. You will join our team of highly-skilled and dedicated data scientists, who make huge volumes of data digestible and useful for teams across the organisation in the form of research and in-house developed applications.
You will contribute to the introduction of cutting-edge geospatial analytics into our investment processes. By working in partnership with our data science and subject matter experts, your research will help determine how to translate geographic data into decision useful information for Robeco colleagues.
Requirements and technical skills
- Experience working with GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Knowledge of statistics and geospatial analysis, proficiency in Python is highly desirable
- Completed bachelor, or preferably masters, study in a relevant field, such as earth, environmental or geospatial sciences
- Ability to work independently and in an organised manner
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
- Basic knowledge of the financial markets is a plus
This roles includes tasks such as
- Profiling and evaluating the tools available on the market
- Creating prototypes of investment focused geospatial analytics
- Researching and documenting use cases
- Presenting findings to colleagues
- Data processing and cleansing
