Data Innovation Team is one of the three Pillars that sit within Global Specialty and Placement Data Strategy Team.
Data Innovation has traditionally been focused on data visualisation for clients and colleagues. Demand for these quick and tactical solutions continues to grow, whilst delivering real benefits to the business.
Within the team over the last 18 months there has been a growing focus on Data Science, this is in line with the Data Strategy vision, changing technologies and techniques, and the ever expanding importance of data within Marsh McLennan.

Our Data Scientists are exposed to some of the toughest challenges in a wide array of industries. As such, you will be responsible for ensuring data best practices, model choice and building, statistical result interpretation and produce numbered and visual evidence to support decision making at highest level of leading organizations.

We will rely on you to:
Developing and refining models in Python, and potentially R.
Superior ability to communicate complex results in the simplest manner
Ability to reduce solutions for ill-defined complex issues to small set of operationalizable components
Deep understanding of general statistics
Ability to deal with unsupervised and supervised learning problems on tabular or time series data
Practical experience with machine learning frameworks
Ability to codify best practices for future reuse in the form of accessible, reusable patterns, templates, and codebases
What you need to have:
Masters in Computer Science, or Data Science, or Statistics
Profound understanding of general statistics
Guru-level expertise in Python for data science
Data wrangling expert skills in Pandas, Numpy and PySpark
Ability to tailor your language to a technical or a non-technical audience
What makes you stand out:
Experience in working with projects relating to insurance claims.
Experience in working with and consolidating disparate datasets at varying degrees of maturity.
Experience in working with database systems and related query language: SQL, MongoDb
The ability and desire to switch between being a member of a team, to leading a team and to being the team
Experience in developing and deploying Web Apps sitting over machine learning models.
