To support its growing need on analytics, Louis Dreyfus Company is looking for a data scientist involved in the data strategy of the predictive analytics service. Positioned within the Coffee Platform, the candidate will be in charge of structuring and analyzing company and market data and supporting the trading platform in their journey to improved data-driven decision. The candidate will have a small team of data analysts reporting to him/ her. The ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities in commodity market events and logistics process optimization, and developing models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. He/She must have a strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods in the commodity sector, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets to improve business outcomes. Working with stakeholders of the platform (traders, researchers), his or her objective will be to: - collect, organize and analyze large sets of data; - lead the change to more structured data storage organization; - continuously improve the trader’s reach to data, by exploring multiple types of opportunities; - enable sustainable approach to models, and scalability to the use of internal or external data; - help develop quantitative financial or agronomic products / dashboards used to inform the traders of market trends or events; - develop a quantitative approach of data analysis to contribute to the trading strategies of the platform The data scientist shall participate to our predictive analytics community: sharing with the team his/her findings, and contributing to the evolution of our analytics practices.
