Description
The Kubernetes DevOps Engineer is a member of the Development team and reports to the Head of Development. S/he works on building, maintaining, and scaling web applications and APIs using technologies such as Docker containers and container orchestration of the Development and Production MENU Services Platform and works in close collaboration with the SiteOps and Support Teams.
Type of contract: Permanent
The key responsibilities of the Kubernetes DevOps Engineer include:
- Works on building, maintaining, and scaling web applications and APIs using technologies such as PHP - Laravel, Lumen Docker containers and container orchestration
- Work on a range of solutions from public cloud platforms, container orchestration deployments, and continuous delivery pipelines using various CI/CD and automation tools
- Maintain large and diverse projects across multiple regions globally
- Participate in the improvement, documentation, communication, and enforcement of configuration engineering processes for MENU Platform services
- Continually evaluate tools and technologies to improve the overall release process
Requirements
- PHP programming experience
- Understanding of Microservices architecture
- Knowhow on Docker (engine, volumes, docker hub, docker-compose, migrations, etc.)
- Experience with Dockerizing PHP applications framework (Laravel, Lumen) Hands-on experience with deploying and managing Docker Orchestration Engines on the AWS Cloud or on-premises deployments (AWS ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, openshift, etc.) Understanding and Hands-on with CI/CD processes (e.g. GitLab CI/CD, Semaphore, YAML files)
- Strong understanding of Linux (processes, permissions, package management like apt, cron, apache, php, troubleshooting experience)
- Fluent in English
- Strong communication skills
