DXT Commodities, for its Lugano office, is looking for a Senior Quantitative Meteorologist to strengthen the weather analysis team that supports the Power Trading desk. Applicants should have at least three years of relevant working or research experience and a strong knowledge of quantitative weather analysis.
The candidate will be part of a highly skilled analysis team and will work with weather related data to generate trading signals for the trading desk.
Tasks:
- Weather models output analysis
- Support in-house model development to generate signals for power trading
Requirements:
- Strong academic background in Meteorology, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics,
- Advanced programming skills (ideally solid knowledge of Python) and familiarity with UNIX
- Knowledge of numerical weather models and their output (GRIB files, netCDF files, etc.)
- Previous exposure to Machine Learning is a plus
- Fluent in English
