Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join the Imaging and Intelligence Group at Intuitive Surgical. The Engineer will work on exploring new product ideas that help us invent the future of imaging-based intelligent robotic surgery.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the mentor

• Develop machine learning algorithms for surgical scene perception
• Implement developed algorithms on a real time platform
• Evaluate implemented algorithms in ex-vivo and in-vivo labs
• Collect data and improve algorithms based on the feedback from labs

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

• Graduate level student in Computer Science or Engineering
• In depth knowledge of a modern deep learning framework such as Tensorflow or Pytorch is required
• Self-starter and able to work in a collaborative and results oriented environment
• Experience with developing applications in Python is required
• Experience in computer vision is required
• Experience with the C++ is a plus
• Experience with CUDA is a plus
• Experience with medical imaging is a plus

Eligibility:

Must be concurrently enrolled and returning to an academic Phd program in the field of Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar.
