Job Description

As the premier supplier to our client, one of the most established financial institutions worldwide, Swisslinx are looking for an experienced Data Management Specialist to work on a large data strategy project in Zurich.

This is a rolling 6 month contract starting ASAP, with a strong chance of extension (up to two years) or even internalization.

Working in a small Data Management Team within our client’s Chief Data Officer you will implement as a value-added function for our critical data assets to maximize the value of our data for the business by providing trusted, secure, high quality and compliant data in an Agile manner.

The CDO is responsible for Strategy, Policy, Standard & Policy, Oversight, Compliance and Issue Management. You will work in an international set up with 2 x SCRUM Teams totaling 12+ people from diverse cultural backgrounds in a fast paced environment.

You will be challenged to embed a data culture into core banking business areas and help to spread this knowledge in an international working environment. You responsibilities will include:

  • Engage key stakeholders for data management topics
  • Drive the execution by identifying critical data assets in collaboration with SMEs both Business and IT located across the globe
  • Embed data ownership
  • Build divisional data catalogue
  • Support stakeholders with data quality and control assessment & monitoring process
  • Seek opportunities to exploit the data


As the ideal candidate for this position, you will possess the following skills:

  • 2-5 years of experience in data related work fields in consulting, data science, IT, business intelligence or corporate environment
  • Passion for data and high motivation to work in project teams in an agile delivery model
  • High sense of responsibility and independent working practice, showing initiative and high level of reliability
  • Practical skills in analyzing complex business processes, data flows and defining and implementing data management concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (professional proficiency)


The following skills are nice to have:

  • A sound understanding of data management principles, including data architecture, governance, quality management, analytics & usage, and security.
  • Preferably experience or interest in banking and basic knowledge of financial products and key processes
  • Knowledge in SQL, Data Lake technologies, Python and Tableau
  • German is highly advantegous


Please note due to COVID interviews would be conducted remotely, however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. The team is currently split between WFH and office right now. Post COVID occasional home office will be permitted (up to 2-3 days).
