IKEA Supply is responsible for securing that the product offer is produced and delivered to our customers. We lead the supply agenda across many functions and work together with all business areas, different business units, but also retail markets to secure customer availability in all markets and sales channels at lowest total cost.
IKEA’s Supply Chain Design & Planning team is expanding the use of Artificial Intelligence in its supply chain analytics. The past year has been spent on building a global competence center for Supply Chain Design & Planning using big data models and Advanced Analytics, where we have seen great benefits for this exciting next step; now we are further expanding our Data Science team.
A Data Scientist contributes to IKEA’s growth by creating new insights within Supply Chain Design & Planning by having the right data models and algorithms in place to enable prediction, optimization, and simulation of IKEA’s Supply Chain Network. The role will deliver frequent and highly appreciated supply chain data products using advanced analytics.
As a Data Scientist, you are expected to do all steps from fishing in our data lakes, aggregate and structure raw data into models, applying learning algorithms, interpret the results and deploy data products. You will also act as “subject matter expert” in all questions related AI in Supply Chain
At Supply Chain Design & Planning we offer a fast-paced environment, combining both short- and long-term projects within Supply Chain where you can drive an idea to implementation. We work as a global team across our 3 offices (Pratteln, Älmhult and Shanghai), and you will have the opportunity to work with some of the best people within Supply Chain Design & Planning.
Top 3 tasks:
o Perform all stages of Advanced Analytics with Supply Chain data, from exploring and blending data, to structure predictive data models and to draw insights and deployment.
o Create new Supply Chain Design & Planning applications based on machine learning, optimisation and simulation techniques.
o Pilot new applications for global roll-out.
To be successful in this role you have experience in building data models and an excellent proven track record, along with:
o Experience in Advanced Analytics
o Programming languages for Advanced Analytics, like Python, R, etc.
o Capability to perform all stages of Advanced Analytics
Find and explore raw data
Build predictive data models
Create learning algorithms
Train data models
Test data models
Deploy data models
o MSc, PhD or other advanced degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research
