Job Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer is responsible for carrying out system analysis, system design, system integration, and test activities. The tasks include working closely with Project Managers in order to assist in project planning, scheduling, and risk assessment activities with clear responsibilities and impact on the project’s results. To this end, you have detailed knowledge of the satellite systems and architectures down to individual sub-systems and units with an end-to-end perspective of how the system is integrated along with how the different sub-systems are coordinated and actively collaborating with each other.The knowledge base of the Systems Engineer includes sub-systems in the radio frequency, satellite baseband, networking, and network management systems. The person in this role is part of a team responsible for a project’s technical tasks from initial requirement's assembly through design and implementation to testing and delivery. The engineer’s key metrics are direct measures against those.

  • 5+ year’s hands-on experience in implementing, delivering, and supporting Satellite networks in a Service Provider environment.
  • 3+ years software development experience
  • 2+ years of Programmable Logic or SW development for signal processing
  • Intimate knowledge of satellite baseband systems and modems with experience in the implementation of sophisticated access systems, including modulation and coding and standards such as DVB-S2
  • Experience in creating and building test environments, including test plans and procedures.
  • Ability to understand end-to-end systems and solve issues.
  • This includes potentially debugging c/c++ or programmable logic issues given
  • Ability to comprehend complex system architectures and apply an end to end perspective
  • Experience across all deliverables of a system engineering process such as requirements capture, system design reviews, and compliance with requirements during design and testing.
  • Must be able to work independently on a small team
  • Interacting with other teams (antenna, modem, systems, tools) on:
  • Developing and improving algorithms to optimize performance
  • Matching bandwidth demand and supply
  • Developing and optimizing tools
  • Implementing the above in production systems


  • Knowledge of FFT-based filtering methods, time domain digital filtering, sampling rate conversion, and FEC encoding
  • Experience with real time C++ development
  • Knowledge of Linux based systems
  • Knowledge of Git-based workflow
  • BS/MSc in Electrical Engineering or related field (Physics, CS)
  • Digital communications background, or driven interest in SatComs (Satellite Communications)
  • 2+ years of experience in Systems Engineering
  • Analytical skills and interest, able and inclined to learn new diverse material at a fast pace
  • Good computer skills (Python, Matlab, C/C++, Verilog/VHDL)
  • Good interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills
