Job Overview

This is a great opportunity to join Amcor’s newly created Open Innovation and Corporate Venturing team based at the company’s Headquarter in Zurich. The Headquarter in Zurich offers an international work environment and cultural diversity. Amcor operates in four primary packaging product segments, notably flexible packaging, rigid packaging, specialty cartons and closures.

The Open Innovation and Corporate Venturing team is responsible for sourcing, making and monitoring investments in businesses that are developing innovative and potentially disruptive technologies and inventions. The Analyst will support the Vice President, Open Innovation and Corporate Venturing in its close interactions with various internal and external partners involved in identifying, developing and executing strategically relevant investments.

The Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Assessing, monitoring and reporting on technologies, industry trends, and new brands which may be of interest to Amcor and the advancement of the overall corporate strategy
  • Working with internal stakeholders providing data-driven analysis to uncover new investment opportunities with strong innovation characteristics and financial return
  • Supporting planning and execution of corporate venturing related projects from identification to closing of investments.
  • Updating and maintaining pipeline of investment opportunities and tracking activities and progress
  • Preparing internal management and board papers to present new and review progress of investment opportunities

About You:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Strong industry experience, ideally in packaging and related value chain
  • Affinity for technology and innovation
  • Ability to quickly understand a business, its key drivers and challenges
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal / influencing skills
  • Strong analytical skills supported by excellent communication capabilities
  • Able to deliver Executive / Board ready materials that succinctly communicate key messages
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise successfully
  • Fluent in English – other languages would be a benefit
  • Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
