About the Role

Are you a scientist who would like to use your scientific and technical knowledge to solve real-world problems in assay analytics? Are you interested in jointly exploring technical solutions with our customers to raise the impact of their R&D programs? Would you like to wear many different hats throughout your work week – scientific and technical expert, project manager, product developer, teacher, diplomat, business traveler – and sharpen your skills as you go along?

As a Genedata Scientific Consultant/Field Application Scientist, you will act as a scientific and technical consultant for our scientist users, helping them to best leverage our software for efficiently conducting their research programs, adopting new methodologies, and making a difference towards the development of new medicines. You will investigate R&D workflows and IT infrastructures, analyze requirements, shape solutions for our customers, and manage projects to deliver these. You also will reflect on the value our products can bring to prospects and customers in concrete settings, and aid our sales team in communicating such value, including qualifying needs and giving pre-sales demos.

Your Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in biological screening data analysis in general and the use of our Genedata Screener software in particular
  • Support our customers in getting the most out of Genedata Screener, starting during pre-sales and continuing throughout the product life cycle
  • Propose, plan, execute and manage internal and external projects, such as scientific consulting, software implementation, systems integration, and data analysis projects
  • Work with our Business Account Managers to establish and communicate the value of our products
  • Use your knowledge, creativity, and technical skills to explore with our customers new areas of need and further advance our science, marketing, development, and product management

Skills & Experience

  • You should feel comfortable interacting with customers on all levels and be prepared to constantly communicate internally
  • You should be curious about the research and development our customers conduct as well as interested in understanding how they quantify business value and assign priority to their activities
  • PhD degree (preferably post-doctorate, industry experience is a plus), experience in immunology, antibody discovery, cell therapy or a related field
  • Experience with assay data analysis, preferably of high-volume life science data
  • Experience with a scripting language (preferably Python) as well as basic familiarity with the UNIX shell environment is a plus
  • You like business travel – up to 30% of your time may be spent visiting customers
