Emphasis will be on model-based analysis of ecological and environmental data from aquatic systems of lab-to field-scale for extracting knowledge and supporting ecosystem management. The goal is to establish a research group to facilitate an iterative learning process involving experiments, observations and model-based data analysis in close collaboration with experimentalists from different disciplines. Of particular interest is the consideration of uncertainty in research and application to management, by using stochastic models and quantitative statistical inference techniques.
