In cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) Lörrach, we are now looking for someone at our innovative R&D location in Stein (AG) as:

Trainee Data Science – Dual course of study in cooperation with DHBW Lörrach - initially limited to 3 years

Data Science is a dual course of study, which is offered at the DHBW Lörrach (Germany). The students who complete this course need an internship contract with a company. Six months a year, the students work on various projects of Syngenta Research and Development. The rest of the time the students are studying at the university. The period in the company includes training RDIT and has a strong focus on research and development data especially in regard to chemistry and biology.


  • Active participation in RDIT projects and relevant areas in biology or chemistry.
  • Independent processing of tasks including all relevant steps as agreed with the supervisor.
  • Participation in projects, scientific process analyzes, products in RDIT.
  • Providing data summaries and drafting interpretations of the outcome, participation in project meetings.
  • As part of the training, you will help other team members complete their tasks.
  • Follow HSE guidelines and ensure that all safety regulations are observed, both with regard to the workplace and data security.


  • Basic understanding of project management as well as the ability to apply what has been learned from the university in the company.
  • School education and / or university experience in IT and in the fields of biology or chemistry.
  • Good knowledge of office software tools.
  • Ability to work on complex projects and quickly get involved in project work
  • Language skills: English (fluent) and German (higher level).
  • Open attitude, team player, willingness to learn and communicate.
  • Due to the switching time period onsite, the ability to capture complex topics and content quickly is essential.
