About this opportunity

This role is primarily responsible for the timely completion of our EMEA close process for various entities and the accuracy of the EMEA financial statements under US GAAP and local GAAP. The position is responsible for assigned general ledger activities, working across accounting functions and international teams.

In this role, you will…

  • Be responsible for all accounting of various EMEA entities;
  • Coordinate month end close with FPA, Payroll, US Corporate, US Tax, Shared Service Center Costa Rica and external Consultants;
  • Be responsible for monthly Transfer Price calculation and Tax provision calculation and related journal entries;
  • Be responsible for Statutory filings of various EMEA entities;
  • Coordinate tax fillings of various EMEA entities;
  • Collaborate and coordinate with different internal business partners (VAT, Payroll, Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax, Treasury, Corporate Accounting);
  • Coordinate internal and external audits;
  • Coordinate accounting for monthly deferred discount postings;
  • Monitor fixed assets accounting performed by subordinated accountants in the EMEA team.
  • Coordinate Month end close process;
  • Prepare/approve journal entries;
  • Prepare monthly fluctuation analysis on BS accounts;
  • Prepare/approve/review reconciliations in Blackline;
  • Perform revaluation and translation of EMEA entities for month end closing.

In this role, you’ll need …

  • University Master degree in accounting;
  • 7+ years of relevant experience with increasing levels of responsibility;
  • Prior experience in both Big 4 Audit firm and high growth public company is considered to be an asset;
  • CPA (or equivalent) is considered a plus.
  • Proficiency in general accounting under US GAAP and SOX requirements;
  • Ability to partner with cross-functional groups to drive and influence business solutions;
  • Problem solving skills, system oriented and strong analytical skills;
  • Excellent written, oral and communication skills in English to work with management and cross-functional groups; Strong written, oral and communication skills in German are required as well;
  • Attention to detail with effective organizational and time management skills;
  • Knowledge and experience in accounting operations with strong attention to detail;
  • Expertise with SAP and Blackline a plus;
  • Swiss GAAP accounting and statutory reporting knowledge.
