Job Description

Join the Tinamu Team and become part of a high-tech spin-off from ETH Zurich. At Tinamu, our mission is to build an environment independent drone based data acquisition platform for all kinds of challenging environments. There we use drones as freely placeable mobile sensors to collect and analyse data to deliver highly valuable insights to our customers, for example to automate repetitive inspection tasks.


You will be part of our highly skilled development team, solving complex analytic challenges to extract relevant information out of the collected data from research and development all the way to launch our first product on the market. In detail, you are responsible for the analytics of data collected by our drone system. Especially in the early stages of the company also other challenges around data handling and cloud computing have to be solved.

In detail you will:

  • Work together with the robotics team and define requirements on path planning for optimal data acquisition.
  • Extract relevant information out of the automated collected data.
  • Solve challenges at the forefront of computer vision and machine learning.
  • Find efficient and novel solutions, develop and deploy key features and workflows.
  • Take responsibility, participate in discussions and find solutions for complex problems.


We’d love to hear from you if:

  • If you have a M.S. or higher in computer science or an engineering background with a strong focus on vision based machine learning from an internationally leading university (ETH or similar).
  • Skilled in deep learning for image / video understanding, object detection and semantic segmentation.
  • Application of deep learning techniques to traditional computer vision topics.
  • 2 years+ of experience with C++ or Python using standard Linux toolchains and excellent software design, problem solving and debugging skills.
  • A good understanding of classical computer vision related algorithms being familiar with the related mathematical foundation (bonus).
  • Works highly independent and reliable.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile and make a significant contribution to the growth of a young technology company.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English (required) and german (bonus).
  • Swiss or EU passport or Swiss residence with existing right to work (B/C permit).
