We are recruiting an IT Business Lead – Switzerland (80-100%) for a permanent contract based in Baar (Switzerland). This person will be playing a key role in contributing to AstraZeneca’s growth through innovation by driving and accelerating AstraZeneca’s IT and digital strategy and role modelling a can-do mindset across the company.

The IT Business Lead will be leading & executing the IT strategy for Switzerland, while ensuring full alignment with WESE (Western & Southern Europe), supporting the creation and execution of the digital plans across the company, ensuring high end-user satisfaction with regards to systems, office infrastructure and devices and maintaining and actual and fit for purpose IS/IT Business Continuity Plan. He/she is keen to deploy new technologies and drive innovation and enjoys supporting and working closely with other teams.

The role will be closely working with the Innovation & Business Excellence team, the business units and all departments. The IT Business Lead manages the IT Business Partnering & Infrastructure team.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Support the creation & execution of the digital plans across all business units & departments
  • Ensure impactful business intelligence reporting tools are in place and properly maintained, and support the creation of BI reports
  • Acts as a consultant and proactively provides advice to the broader organization on new technologies, devices, digital trends & practices
  • Manage the IS/IT Business Partner to ensure Business Intelligence (BI) reporting, training and/or coordination of digital technologies, delivery of digital projects as well as other business projects outside BI and Digital
  • Manage the team of IT infrastructure specialists

Develop and coach a high quality team

  • Drive team and individual performance to deliver the agreed objectives
  • Responsible for the proper management of the IS/IT cost budget as well as of the budget planning
  • Drive awareness and adoption of Bots/Process Automation throughout the organization

Your experience

  • Prior commercial experience in a similar role with proven expertise across IS/IT solution environment
  • Has experience in effectively manage, motivate and drive teams
  • Keen to provide innovative solutions for the business
  • Enjoys supporting teams/people across all levels of the organisation
  • Experience of effectively managing projects/ IT project management experience as acting project manager

  • Technical/Digital degree


Fluency in English is essential, German is highly desirable, any additional local language (French, Italian) is a plus
