Job Description

The Head of IAI Europe will be responsible to plan and then establish Incyte’s business in Europe in the Inflammation and Autoimmunity area. Initially this will be focused on building the strategy to successfully launch a new topical product in the Dermatology therapy area. The successful candidate will lead all aspects of European Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Marketing for the Inflammation & Autoimmunity business in Europe. They will be tasked with developing and implementing a Europe specific strategy. The incumbent will work closely with Regional Functional Heads and European General Managers to ensure alignment and translation of strategy into effective programs and tools. This individual will drive the values that comprise the INCYTE culture and support the Company’s vision.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, create and establish the future European IAI business.

  • Lead the INCYTE market access, medical affairs, and marketing activities within the Lausanne HQ and within the affiliate organizations in cooperation with the Country General Managers and European Function Heads.

  • Will be a key member and contributor of the Lausanne & Country Leadership Teams

  • Will be the interface between Europe and the Global IAI Team and will be a member of the Clinical Development Strategy Focus Group

  • Work collaboratively with the global product strategy team to identify Europe specific market insights to drive strategy.

  • Develop and execute European commercialization strategies and tactical cross-functional plans to maximize future IAI brands in cooperation with other functions.

  • Drive the European go-to-launch process to optimize time to market and maximize the value of future IAI assets.

  • Align the Region Europe team around common objectives.

  • Manage vendor partnerships to ensure tactical elements are properly executed in a timely manner and within budget.

  • Manage all activities, including vendor partnerships within the corresponding European commercialization budgets.

  • Establish an environment which encourages innovation to position INCYTE at the cutting edge of pharmaceutical industry practices.

  • Drive, defend and model Incyte company values and culture.

  • Contribute positively to a strong culture of business integrity and ethics.

  • Act within compliance and legal requirements as well as within company guidelines.


  • Undergraduate degree is required; Life sciences and advanced level degrees preferred;

  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ pharmaceutical / biotech experience ideally gained in medical affairs, market access and brand marketing;

  • Inflammation & Autoimmunity expertise is required; Dermatology is a plus

  • Launch experience is preferred;

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities;

  • Entrepreneurial experience;

  • Strong analytic and project management skills;

  • Demonstrated creative problem solving and team partnership skills;

  • High emotional intelligence with excellent interpersonal skills,;

  • First-rate communication abilities with strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Fluent in English with any other European language a plus.

  • Willingness and ability to travel Internationally
