Aquatic Risk Modelling Postdoc
We invite you to help us shape the future of agriculture. To support this challenge, the Product Safety team is currently seeking an Aquatic Risk Modelling Postdoc in our Basel, Switzerland HQ office.

The Aquatic Risk Modelling Postdoc will be a three years engagement where you will develop an indicator system for the environmental risk of crop protection measures on aquatic systems. This indicator will be a globally applicable digital tool and reflect local environmental conditions and agronomic practices

In this role you will:
Review Scientific literature on environmental risk indicators
Develop environmental risk indicator for aquatic systems system
Coordinate with environmental fate, ecotoxicology and environmental risk assessment experts
Acquire & maintain scientific and technical modelling expertise
Deliver and present relevant novel research (incl. scientific publications & conference presentations)

Qualifications

We are looking for:
Critical knowledge and experience
A good understanding of environmental fate, ecological & effect modelling along with current knowledge of risk modelling techniques
A PhD degree in a relevant area of science
Track record relating to one or more of the following areas: environmental fate and ecotoxicology of chemicals, ecological modelling, ecotoxicological effects, environmental risk indicators, Bayesian Network Models, environmental models, agronomy models
Experience in developing and applying models
Ability to design, build and analyse environmental systems models
Ability to analyse and interpret complex data
Readiness for occasional international business travels
Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities
Commitment to achieve objectives individually and within a team
Effective communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to skillfully plan, organize and monitor performance to meet deadlines
Motivation towards publishing in peer-reviewed literature
Creative problem solving skills
